I’m Julie Mayfield, the reader behind This Bookish Life. I’ve been in love with books since I filled out that first Scholastic order form in grade school and since you’ve landed here I’m guessing you can relate.

I was also an early blogger (2006!) and have written online about personal finance, decor, and lifestyle. Now, I’ve landed where I feel most at home—writing about books and the reading life.

I live with my husband Tom in the Kansas City area. We have two grown children, Lindsey and Grant, a son-in-law Morgan, and a granddaughter Madeline, who’s become my favorite person to share books with.
