A couple of weeks ago, Lindsey, Morgan, and Madeline took a trip (way) up north to Grand Marais, MN. Have you been? Their trip looked dreamy and of course, I lived for every picture and video they sent, but my favorites were the ones of Madeline alone looking at waterfalls and lakes. It made it seem like she had been on vacation alone, which made me laugh.
Lindsey also sent me this picture of Drury Lane Books which sits on the shores of Lake Superior. I’m ready to pack my bags. Here’s a Grand Marais travel guide I found while poking around. If you’ve been to Grand Marais, or nearby, I’d love to hear about it.

The Devil at His Elbow: Alex Murdaugh and the Fall of a Southern Dynasty by Valerie Bauerlein (hardcover). Valerie Bauerlein is a Wall Street Journal reporter who has covered this story extensively and this is her new book on the subject. I followed this case and trial so closely, did you?
Parkland: Birth of a Movement by Dave Cullen (Audible and Kindle). After being one of the first reporters on the scene and spending ten years writing Columbine, Dave Cullen swore he would never go back to the scene of a mass shooting. But he couldn’t ignore the story of what the kids at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School were doing in the wake of that shooting. I’ve read both of these books and they are excellent.
Presumed Innocent (Kindle). Read (or re-read) Scott Turow’s 1987 bestselling mystery and then watch the new Jake Gyllenhaal series and/or the 1990 Harrison Ford movie.
