CTL Weekly 10.25

I have a couple of holiday clothing items from J. Crew Factory and it’s such fun to pull them out every December so I was excited to see that this year’s holiday items have hit their site (and everything is 40% off this weekend).

I’m adding this red sweatshirt with sparkly buttons and a tartan button placket to my collection this year. Here are a few more of my favorites:

Here’s more of what I saved to share with you this week…

A renovated ranch house on Long Island. From the article: “It was a quiet ranch house, with zero design,” probably built in the 1970s from a catalog, Ms. Reed said. She bought the 1,400-square-foot home for $450,000 and began visiting every weekend she could. My note: don’t miss the library!

Speaking of ranches, here’s a real estate listing that my equally house-obsessed friend Kathleen sent me. It’s a typical suburban home in our area but it’s BIG on style. P.S. Look for the dog artwork in the kitchen.

If you’re in the mood for a light Halloween read, this looks like a fun one.

How to host a one-hundred-family tailgate. We’ve been tailgating with friends for 10+ years and some of our tailgates get pretty big but the SEC is on another level.

Last Friday night I started Nobody Wants This at 9 PM and told Tom I was just going to watch a couple of episodes. Five hours later I had finished all ten episodes. Needless to say, I was happy when I learned that it had been renewed for season 2. Here’s what we know so far.

Shrinking is also back for season 2. Tom and I both loved the first season.

Fall items to look for at Costco, Aldi, and Trader Joe’s.

  1. I could move into Ms Reeds house today. Exquisite taste!
    Thanks for sharing.

  2. I love your finds this week! That NY house! Those plaid and rhinestone shoes (where could I wear them?) That OP listing! Thank you for the delights—

    1. Wear the shoes to the grocery store, Lori! It’s the holidays! lol

  3. Love the items from J Crew! The house on Long Island is lovely. We live in Southern CA, and real estate listings always interest me. The listing your friend sent could be close to twice that price here, depending on location. It can be discouraging and depressing for first time buyers.

    1. Ugh…I feel for first time buyers, Lillian. They’re struggling here too, mainly because of the lack of inventory.

I so enjoy your site Julie. I like everything about it! Now that I’m 87 I feel you are my personal shopper. Birdies tempted me to get new shoes. My size. My style. I really like your vibe.

    1. Marilyn, your comment just made my day! I’m so glad you find value in the site. Enjoy the Birdies!!
