Did you have a good Thanksgiving? Is it too late to ask that?

I missed writing last week because, well, exhaustion. lol It was a great Thanksgiving and my favorite part might have been when five of us stood around the stove after dinner making Magnolias‘ caramel bourbon sauce for the pecan pie.

You know how they say cooking is an art but baking is a science? Well, making caramel sauce really does feel like a science experiment and this was a group project. The instructions were very specific and kind of bossy (Do not stir! Watch the pot closely! Stand back! Don’t panic…the cream will bubble violently! lol).

The end result was delicious – I’m sure I’ll be making it again. And, again, I took no pictures of said pie. I’ll try to do better. Here’s a little IG reel of our Thanksgiving Day though in case you’re interested.
